Bearish bets on 10-year Treasury note rose last week
FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the speculators increased their overall bearish bets on the 10-year Treasury note futures in the last week - March 31st to April 7th.
The total non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes stood at a net position of -162,427 contracts. This was a weekly change of -48,617 net contracts from the previous week’s total of -113,810 net contracts that was recorded on March 31st. The long positions fell by 34,143 contracts, while the short positions rose by 14,474 contracts.
Meanwhile, during the reporting time period, the yield on the 10-Year treasury note edged lower from 1.94% to 1.89%.
