World economy seen rising 3.5% in 2015 – IMF forecast

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its World Economic Outlook, kept its 2015 global growth forecast unchanged at 3.5%. The growth forecast for 2016 was revised higher to 3.8% vs 3.7% in January. The Emerging market growth forecast was kept unchanged at 4.3%.

US growth forecast revised lower, China forecast held unchanged

IMF sees US growth this year at 3.1% vs 3.3% in January. Similarly, in 2016 the economy is seen rising at 3.1% vs 3.3% in January. The China growth forecast is held unchanged at 6.8% this year and 6.3% in 2016 but the fund sees risks of further slowdown in the Chinese economy.

Meanwhile, India is now expected to grow 7.5% in 2015, while 2016 growth forecast was revised higher to 6.5% from 6.3% in January.
