US: Initial Jobless Claims rose to 362K
According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 20K last week to a seasonally adjusted 362K in the week ended February 17, below expectations at 355K and coming from 362K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, rose by 11K to a seasonally adjusted 3.148 million in the week ended February 10 vs. 3.137 million in the previous week (revised).
