UK Treasury Select Committee: Exports hit by EU weakness
FXStreet (London) - Chancellor George Osborne is speaking before the Commons Treasury Select Committee. Responding to a question from Andrea Leadsom MP, Osborne stated that:
"Britain’s export performance has been disappointing.
"Exports have been hit by the weakness of the Eurozone economy.
"Non-EU exports have been up a quarter.
"UK found itself in a situation where it was overly-dependent on established markets and were not plugged into emerging markets and into China, India et al."
